PRIDE: We Are All In This TOGETHER!

Some people act as though supporting LGBTQ+ people somehow takes attention away from veterans, mental health awareness, faith, first responders, traditional families, or any number of other important causes.

There is a strange idea that seems to surface every year during Pride Month.

But that is not how compassion works.

Supporting one community does not require ignoring another. Celebrating one group does not erase anyone else's story. We are capable of caring about many people, many experiences, and many causes all at the same time.

Pride is not about asking for more value than anyone else.

For many of us, Pride is about making sure the next generation does not grow up feeling invisible, ashamed, or completely alone the way many of us once did.

Every young person deserves to know that they have value. Every person deserves to feel safe enough to be themselves. That message does not threaten anyone else's beliefs, family, service, or identity.

A world with more acceptance does not create less respect for veterans. It does not weaken faith. It does not make traditional families any less meaningful. It does not reduce the importance of mental health awareness.

Love is not a limited resource.

Empathy is not a competition.

The more we create space for people to be seen, heard, and respected, the stronger our communities become.

We do not build a better future by deciding whose pain deserves attention.

We build it by making sure no one has to suffer in silence.
