2026/27 FALL-WINTER SEMESTER

"Paint the World a Magical Place"

This year, we introduce a series of engaging themes designed to help individuals build empathy, confidence, and respect for diversity. Through creative, imagination-based activities, participants strengthen positive relationships and contribute to safe, inclusive environments.

The program encourages participants to explore personal goals and self-worth while developing teamwork and collaboration skills through community-focused projects. Participants learn to embrace individuality, practice authentic self-expression, and appreciate the differences that make each person unique.

Throughout the program, participants develop perspective-taking, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation skills that promote kindness, cooperation, and understanding. The experience concludes with practical strategies for managing stress and challenges in healthy, effective ways—supporting resilience, well-being, and stronger communities.

Title: “Reach For the Stars”

Topic: Aspirations

Theme: We are each born carrying a constellation of dreams, unique, radiant, and full of possibility. Yet too often, society dims that light and distances us from our aspirations through financial barriers and limited access. This month, we journey through the galaxies to rediscover the power of our ideas and learn how to bring them down to earth as tangible futures. Rooted in personal empowerment, fueled by collaboration, and guided by fearlessness, we will weave our individual visions together into a shared plan of action that culminates in a local showcase of talent and ideas this October.

Arts & Crafts – Star Cards: Participants paint their dreams on one side of an index card and write related goals on the other, creating a visual reminder of both inspiration and intention.

Personal Project – Plan of Action: Participants use goal-setting and time-management tools to break big dreams into small, achievable steps, creating a clear pathway toward success.

Community Service – Garbage Pick-Up Party: Participants clean up neighborhood streets while listening to music, turning community service into a fun, collaborative, and meaningful experience.

Title: “End Bullying, Just Dance”

Topic: Unity

Theme: Bullying thrives in an ultra-competitive world that teaches us to see one another as rivals rather than as part of a shared human family. This month, we get groovy on the dance floor to celebrate connection and remind ourselves that we have far more in common than what divides us. Through shared experiences in music, art, and service to others, we step into the spotlight as a united force of kindness, spreading joy and positivity throughout the community.

Arts & Crafts – Unity Bracelets: Participants create bracelets using beads or threads to represent values like kindness, friendship, and togetherness. Each bracelet becomes a symbol of connection and shared community spirit.

Personal Project – Signs of Sunshine: Participants create bright, positive handheld signs designed to bring smiles and spread joy to everyone who sees them.

Community Service – Sidewalk Dance Rally: Participants take to the corners of neighborhood streets to dance, laugh, and share their energy with the community. The goal is to bring smiles, brighten days, and create moments of connection with everyone who passes by.

Title: “Be YOU-nique"

Topic: Individuality

Theme: Each of us shines in our own unique way, yet the world often tries to fit us into boxes. This month, we embrace the beauty of who we are and find courage in the very things that make us different. Together, we break stereotypes and nurture empathy, weaving a new “norm” where our differences become the colors that make the world come alive.

Arts & Crafts – Spirit Flags: Participants create and paint their own flags to represent their unique individuality. Each flag becomes a personal expression of what makes them shine, celebrating differences and inspiring others to honor their own distinct qualities.

Personal Project – My Voice Matters: Participants craft a personal testimony that reflects who they are, what they believe in, what they love, and what defines them. It’s a chance to share their values, passions, and individuality in their own authentic voice.

Community Service – Rising Stars Individuality Showcase: Participants are given the opportunity to share their talents, ideas, dreams, and goals in a supportive and celebratory environment. By stepping into the spotlight, each person highlights their individuality and creativity, inspiring others while showing how diverse passions and perspectives contribute to a vibrant, connected community.

Title: "Create Art, Not War"

Topic: World Peace

Theme: We are all born beneath the same sun, yet the world often teaches us to fear and judge what is different. This month, we celebrate our shared light and imagine a world filled with peace, wonder, and possibility. By seeing the humanity in others and remembering that many of our divisions were created long before us, we can lay down the weapons of hate and lift the brushes of hope to paint the world a more magical place.

Arts & Crafts – Gifts of Solidarity: Participants use natural materials like leaves, stones, branches, flowers, and twine to create small gifts that symbolize friendship, unity, and a fresh start in building connections across the world.

Personal Project – Peace Pledge: Participants add their own words and signatures to a shared pledge, committing to kindness, understanding, and actions that help build a brighter, more peaceful world for everyone.

Community Service – Water is Life: Participants honor Native American communities by working together to clean local waterways, protecting and preserving fresh water to ensure it remains safe and accessible for generations to come.

Title: "One World, One Home"

Topic: Humanity

Theme: Everyone faces storms, and many walk in silence without a hand to hold. This month, we become beacons of light, reaching out to honor the dignity and humanity in every soul. By sharing our unique gifts and talents within our community, we weave a tapestry of care and compassion. When we see others as family rather than strangers, our collective efforts become a powerful force, lifting hearts and easing the burdens that touch so many lives.

Arts & Crafts – Puppy Pillows: Participants create no-sew fleece pillows for shelter animals, adding personal touches like colors, paw prints, or simple facial features. The project combines creativity and compassion, giving teens a hands-on way to support animals in need.

Personal Project – Letters to Prisoners: Participants write thoughtful, encouraging letters to people in prison, offering kindness, support, and connection. The project helps foster empathy, breaks isolation, and reminds recipients that someone cares about their humanity.

Community Service – Volunteer Brigade: Participants come together as a team to prepare and serve meals for people experiencing homelessness. The project builds community, fosters teamwork, and spreads compassion by directly supporting those in need.

Title: "Be the Change"

Topic: Mindfulness

Theme: Mindfulness is more than yoga or meditation—it’s a way of seeing and living in the world. In the chaos of everyday life, it’s easy to react with stress, frustration, or negativity. This month, we discover the wisdom within ourselves by approaching challenges, relationships, and the world around us with calm and intention. By pausing, reflecting, and responding thoughtfully, we become the heroes of our own lives and create a ripple of peace and clarity in the world around us.

Arts & Crafts – Breath Wand: Participants craft a simple wand using a stick or straw, yarn, and beads. The wand becomes a personal tool for guided breathing exercises, helping to focus, relax, and practice mindfulness.

Personal Project – Happy List of How To Be: Participants create a list of their favorite activities, hobbies, goals, and sources of daily inspiration. The list serves as a guide to lift their spirits, find joy, and stay positive even on the darkest or most challenging days.

Community Service – Day of the Light: Participants converge as a community of peacemakers to design their own meditations, yoga sequences, and other wellness activities that promote calm, focus, and positive well-being. Guided by professionals.
